“I am the mother of Christopher, a handsome six year old autistic boy attending The Learning Repertoire. Christopher started ABA therapy two years ago and has come such a long way since. When Christopher first started he had some serious self-injurious behaviors. He would bang his head on whatever he could find, slap himself, pull my hair, hit me and scream and throw himself on the floor. And this happened just about everyday. It was so painful seeing him do this to himself. He was nonverbal and this was a big part of the behaviors because of the frustration he had from not being able to communicate with us. He had between seven to nine words and wasn’t interested in letting people in his world. If it was up to him he would have been happy lining up blocks all day. When we started him at the Learning Repertoire he started off with two hours a week. And with in the first two weeks we were already seeing progress. For us it was the most amazing thing hearing him learn new words and how to request for things and for him to be able to sit down for more than five minutes to learn. Ever since he has been here we have just seen such a HUGE change in him. He is so smart and has come such a long way. I am so proud of my baby and so thankful to Kristina and the therapists for all they have done and continue to do for Christopher. I don’t think just anyone can do what they do. You have to be dedicated, patient, and loving. There are no words to explain how thankful I am to GOD for blessing us with such beautiful people to help our son come out of that shell that was just holding him down. They not only helped get rid of those self-injurious behaviors, they helped him learn in school with his academics, follow instructions, and how to become independent with a lot of everyday activities. And something that is priceless is when I see the look on Christopher’s face when he is so proud of himself when he does something on his own. I love seeing him want to learn and being excited about it. Now instead of trying to isolate himself he is out there trying to play with other kids. I know he is going to do well in life because of everyone’s hard work and dedication. Thanks so much!”

Jonathan is still progressing well. Instead of him just giving "yes" or "no" answers, or mimicking the choices given, he will sometimes answer with a complete sentence. He has had an increase in his spontaneous verbalization recently. Lately he likes to say, "That's cool. I like that."! One day he pointed out a woman walking to her car and said, "That lady is wearing polka dots."! He is still taking 6 hrs per week of ABA therapy at The Learning Repertoire. They are the best.
Dear TLR Staff
I want to thank you all for the hard work and dedication you have each given my son, Timmy this past year. In a world of depressing progress reports and medical consultations your positive outlook and encouragement shines like a beacon to restore hope to parents. Your work is great (and greatly needed)-Timmy has come a long way & you deserve the credit! Thanks from the bottom of my heart and Timmy’s. We will miss you but stay in touch.
